Immediate Measures Hergiswald Landslide Nr. 6
Following heavy rains at the end of July 2014 the edge of the slope on the valley-side of the Hergiswald landslide was in a bad state and slipped. The edge of the slope on the valley-side ran along the village road (Kriens Obernau – Schwarzenberg Holderchäppeli) near the Hergiswald pilgrimage church. An open bored pile wall made of reinforced driven piles and top plates was installed to stabilise the support structure with respect to the road and the existing embankment. The depth of the anchoring of the drilled piles was selected to enable complete fixing in the deep rock. The drilled piles are monolithically connected with the top plates. The crash barrier was fixed to the guide wall.
The main objective was to ensure the safety (structural safety and serviceability) for road users.
